Cubs take to the air with CARS - 24/05/2006 : 1st Dunnet Bay : CubsCaithness Amateur Radio Society (CARS) helped Dunnet Bay Cubs with part of their Communicator badge tonight. They set up a temporary radio station in the hall and arranged for members of CARS to be available to talk to the Cubs over the airwaves. All the Cubs took a turn on air, speaking to radio stations from Dunnet Head, John O’Groats and Wick but some spoke to radio stations as far away as Edinburgh and Northumberland. The Cubs had a go at learning their name in Morse Code using a morse key and morse tutor (an electronic device for teaching, sending and receiving of morse code). They also listened to a recording of Denny Morrison speaking to the International Space Station in February this Year. Cubs, Leaders and CARS members
