To start their Group Environment Award, Dunnet Bay Cubs spent the first day of the long weekend in Dunnet Forest. They created a new path to link two old paths then watched in awe as Jon Hollingdale, the Forest Manager, felled a couple of trees.
After lunch, they flew kites and the hot air balloon they had made to complete their Air Activities badge.
Unfortunately the pictures from the day were lost as the memory card in the camera failed :-( but this is the hot air balloon |

To try recruiting more members from Canisbay Primary School, 1st Dunnet Bay held their usual meeting in Canisbay Hall instead of Castletown on the 28th of September.
Leaflets dished out in the school ensured a good turn out on the night to find out what Beavers and Cubs is about. We also invested a Beaver at the beginning and moved one up to Cubs at the end.
Our efforts got 5 new Beavers including the first brother and sister members of the group. |
